1984 Los Angeles and Glynis Nunn our Heptathlete acted out a Hollywood Dream! Gold in the Heptathlon with 7 personal Bests and 6390 points. It was an amazing competition with the favourite Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and Glynis managed the win by just 5 points !
Glynis got off to a great start with a personal best 13.02 in the hurdles but dropped behind Joyner and was fourth after day one. A long jump of 6.66m put Glynis back in contention but the javelin of 35.58m left her 31 points behind Joyner.
Our Aussie girl needed to beat Joyner by 2.25secs in the 800 metres to win the gold. In a great battle almost to the end, Glynis ran another personal best of 2.10.57 to win by just five points.
